Mesaimeer coach Tarik Makhnas spoke to the media ahead of their 2026-2027 season Jetour League Week 3 match against Al Kharaitiyat.

“The Umm Salal match taught us a lot. It was a two-part affair. In the first half, we were below par, but in the second half, we were much better. However, we did not translate this improvement into goals.

“The team is 80 per cent complete despite the injury to Mohamed Junaidi. I believe that facing strong teams at the beginning of the league is a positive thing because it is a real test that reveals and assesses the team’s level, both psychologically and physically. It is difficult to evaluate a team based on matches against weaker opponents,” said Makhnass.”

Muaither player Omar Yahya said, “We approach each match as a separate objective and learn from our mistakes in previous games. The coach has confidence in us because the team performed well in the first match and learned from the mistakes in the second, which we will avoid in the next game.”
