Qatar Under-23 national team coach Jose Angel spoke to the media ahead of their 2026-2027 season Jetour League Week 1 match against Umm Salal.

“This tournament is important in preparing the team for upcoming competitions.

“The coaching staff are taking the current phase very seriously, focusing on preparing the players, raising their technical and physical readiness, and utilizing the matches to improve the team’s performance and enhance team cohesion,” said Jose Angel.

Qatar U-23 national team player Muath Ibrahim said, “Preparations for the league have gone well, the team began its preparations some time ago with an overseas training camp in the Netherlands from July 20 to August 10, during which we played three friendly matches.

“We, as players, are looking forward to maximizing the benefit from the upcoming matches.”
