Al Ahli coach Borja Jimenez spoke to the media ahead of their 2026-2027 season Doha Bank Stars League Week 2 match against Lusail.

“I view the match with utmost importance due to its significant impact on the team’s morale and their continued good performance. The team did not play badly against Al Sadd despite the loss, but certain circumstances prevented us from achieving the desired result.

“I have been working on addressing the team’s mistakes and improving their performance in order to win against Lusail. Al Ahli will play with full seriousness to secure the points,” said Jimenez.

Al Ahli player Luis Martin said, “I am happy to have joined the ranks of Al Ahli. As a player who has spent 17 years in Qatar football since my youth. I feel comfortable with coach Borja Jimenez’s system and will do my best to perform well with the team.

“Al Ahli will be different in Friday’s match against Lusail and we, as players, are determined to deliver our best performance to secure the points.”
