Al Arabi coach Younes Ali spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League Week 13 match against Al Rayyan.

“Al Arabi and Al Rayyan contests are not subject to any standards, they are always a difficult and strong opposition, irrespective of the two teams’ standings. We are well prepared for the match and are determined to return to winning ways.

“Al Rayyan have distinguished players – both national and foreign professionals, and regardless of the new assignments, our matches with Al Rayyan are always exciting and enjoyable for the fans. I expect it to be a match no less difficult than the first leg, as both teams need three points and victory.

“The positive results give a great morale boost to the players just as negative results affect them mentally. But the players are determined to bounce back and achieve the three points. We are keen to satisfy the fans and present a great match on Saturday.

“Al Arabi fans are always behind the team especially in such games. We hope for their support for this match. We are still in the middle of the league and the team shall be able to return to victories and compensate for the earlier losses in the upcoming matches,” said Younes.

Al Arabi player Rafinha Alcantara said, “We will play a very important match with Al Rayyan and it comes following two consecutive losses. We need match points and we will fight for victory.

“Al Rayyan are a big team with distinguished players. I had the opportunity to play in a friendly against them. We must prepare well in order to achieve victory. When I came to Al Arabi, I spoke with my teammates, the coach and the staff about our desire to achieve a title with the team and that is what we shall aim to fight for.

“I know very well that Al Arabi have the best fan base in Qatar and it would be great to see them in the stadium.”
