The 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League’s Week 3 action, held over 15th, 16th and 17th August, 2022, witnessed exciting competition.

Al Sailiya lost to Qatar SC 1-2
Al Wakrah bt Umm Salal 4-0
Al Arabi bt Al Markhiya 2-0
Al Duhail bt Al Rayyan 2-1
Al Sadd bt Al Ahli 3-2
Al Shamal bt Al Gharafa 2-1
The third round produced six victories and no draws. As many as 20 goals were scored during the six matches compared to Week 2 action, which saw 14 goals.
The Al Wakrah vs Umm Salal match was the highest-scoring one in terms of a team's goals with the result being 4-0 in favour of Al Wakrah.
Al Wakrah's Angolan striker Jacinto Dala topped the list of scorers with five goals, after scoring two goals in his team's last match against Umm Salal. He was followed by Al Markhiya's Iraqi striker Aymen Hussein, who scored three goals.
Al Arabi maintained their place at the top of the standings winning against Al Markhiya, which was the team's third victory and raised their tally to nine points, followed by Al Wakrah in second place with 7 points.
Al Sadd and Al Duhail achieved their first wins of this season. Al Sadd defeated Al Ahli 3-2, and Al Duhail beat Al Rayyan 2-1 in a strong and exciting match, considered as the strongest of the week.
As for Al Rayyan, it was their third loss after losing in the first round against Al Shamal and in the second round meeting with Al Arabi, and are at the bottom place without any points.
Al Shamal managed to achieve an exciting victory over Al Gharafa. It was their second win in three matches and puts them in the third place with six points. Al Gharafa with four points are at sixth.
There are six teams, each with four points, after the third round, and they are: Al Sadd, Al Ahli, Al Gharafa, Al Duhail, Al Markhiya, and Qatar SC.
Qatar SC succeeded in achieving their first win overcoming Al Sailiya 2-1 in a strong match that witnessed excitement until the final moments.
Al Wakrah scored a big 4-0 win over Umm Salal in a match that saw the brilliance of Al Wakrah, who came up with a strong show that won the admiration of everyone. Mohamed Benyettou in his first participation with Al Wakrah this season scored the first goal and was instrumental in scoring the second goal as well where the ball hit Umm Salal's Ali Bazmadegan on its way into the goal.
Gelson Dala, the team and the league's top-scorer so far also imposed himself strongly scoring a brace. He has scored five goals so far in the league.
The victory for Al Wakrah over Umm Salal was their second after they beat Al Duhail in the first round, and drew with Al Gharafa in the second to raise their tally to seven points to be in second place.
In the Al Arabi vs Al Markhiya match, Al Arabi succeeded in continuing their unbeaten run to maintain their top position in the competition after they overcame Al Markhiya 2-0.
The top clash of the round ended with Al Duhail beating Al Rayyan 2-1 in the strongest and most gripping match of the week. Al Duhail came from behind to win and the match witnessed frenetic action until the very last when Al Rayyan's Yohan Boli missed to score of a penalty, with his kick hitting the crossbar.
Al Duhail thus registered their first victory and raised their points tally to 4 points while Al Rayyan suffered a loss for the third time.
Defending champions Al Sadd also achieved their first win of the season over Al Ahli leaving it late to score the winner.
In the final match of the third round, Al Shamal edged Al Gharafa 2-1. Al Gharafa led early through Yacine Brahimi but Yassin Bammou of Al Shamal helped his side first equalise and then scored again to ensure victory and obtain the three points. Al Shamal raised their tally to six points and are in third place.
