Al Sadd drew Al Duhail 2-2
Al Ahli lost to Qatar SC1-3

Al Gharafa lost to Al Arabi 0-1
Two of the four fixtures ended in draws, and Al Arabi’s Abdullah Al Maarafi and Al Shamal’s Jassem Al Hashmi received red cards.
Stoppage time proved more decisive in this round in some matches, as Umm Salal scored their all-important goal against Al Shamal and Al Duhail pulled back two goals to hold reigning champions Al Sadd to a 2-2 draw in extra time.
In terms of changes in the standings, Qatar SC climbed from sixth to fourth place following their 3-1 win over Al Ahli with 26 points. Al Wakrah dropped one place to fifth with 24 points after their 1-1 draw with Al Rayyan and Al Gharafa dropped from fifth to sixth with 23 points.
Second-placed Al Arabi (34 points) were one of the biggest beneficiaries of this round, as they could bridge the gap with leaders Al Duhail to two points after their 1-0 victory over Al Gharafa. However, Al Duhail have played one game less. Meanwhile, Al Sadd retained their third place with 29 points despite being held to a 2-2 draw by Al Duhail.
Umm Salal also benefited from the round as they registered their second victory this season by beating Al Shamal 1-0. Umm Salal and Al Rayyan both have 13 points, but the latter were placed ahead (10th place) on better goal difference. Al Shamal are ninth with 14 points.
Al Ahli remained in seventh spot with 21 points and Al Markhiya stood eighth with 18 points. Al Sailiya, who lost 1-3 to Al Markhiya, remained at the bottom with nine points.
In the first match, Al Markhiya bounced back through Driss Fettouhi, Jameel Al Yahmadi and Jose Correia after Al Sailiya surged ahead through Sergio Carlos. It was a great relief for The Oryxes who had lost 0-4 to Al Wakrah in Week 16.
Al Rayyan pulled back in the penultimate minute through Ivorian striker Yohan Boli to hold Al Wakrah to a draw after the latter took the lead through Jacinto Dala in the 82nd minute.
The exciting encounter between Al Sadd and Al Duhail ended in a dramatic draw, as Al Duhail scored two goals through Nam Tae-Hee (90+6 minute) and Federico Fernandez (90+8 minute) deep into stoppage time to cancel out Al Sadd’s goals by Baghdad Bounedjah and Santi Cazorla.
Al Duhail thus snatched a valuable point in their bid to regain the league shield, with one match in hand – against Al Rayyan.
Title challengers Al Arabi also gained with their 1-0 win over Al Gharafa as they could reduce the gap with Al Duhail to two points, thanks to a penalty conversion by Tunisian star Yousef Msakni.
Qatar SC overturned the goal scored by Mohammed Hussein Kanaani of Al Ahli to script a 3-1 win, courtesy of goals from Badr Benoun, Eisa Ahmed and Raoul Sanda.
Umm Salal collected three valuable points by beating Al Shamal, with Adel Alawi netting the winner in stoppage time.
