Umm Salal coach Wesam Rizik spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 19 match against Al Sailiya.

“The Al Sailiya match is of great importance to us after defeats in the last two rounds. Our goal is to be back on winning path and compensate for the lapses in this game.

“Al Sailiya are a strong team and they benefited from the transfer window as they strengthened their ranks with strong players. They are trying to get out of their difficult position. The match will be strong because each side seeks to score the three points, therefore I consider this match as very important.

“We will have a reaction provided we enter the match with very high concentration because the most important thing is not to make mistakes and take advantage of the opportunities to achieve victory. That is very important for us in view of our strong levels.

“Decline in form in the past two weeks is a matter of concern for us. We hope to regain our winning touch and make progress in the table. I have great confidence in the players especially since the matches in the last rounds of the competition are always characterized by strength. We have the desire to win points,” said Wesam.

Umm Salal goalkeeper Sami Beldi said, “The match will be difficult due to the two teams' desire to win the three points.

“We will go into the remaining matches considering them as finals and we must win. We are well-prepared through the training under coach Wesam Rizik.”
