The 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League’s Week 7 matches witnessed intense competition and excitement, producing a total of 24 goals.

Al Shamal especially impressed with a 5-2 win over Al Arabi. Additionally, Qatar SC managed to overturn a one-goal deficit against Al Wakrah and won 2-1. Similarly, Al Gharafa successfully transformed their deficit against Umm Salal into a commanding 3-1 win.

The match between Al Shamal and Al Arabi produced the most goals (seven), while Al Duhail managed to maintain a clean sheet.

As many as 28 yellow cards were issued alongside one red card –to Al Wakrah defender Almahdi Ali.

Al Sadd moved up from fifth to third place, Al Gharafa from sixth to fourth, Al Shamal from seventh to sixth, Al Rayyan from ninth to eighth, and Qatar SC from 11th to 10th, trailing Al Arabi on goal difference. Conversely, Al Wakrah fell from third to fifth place and Umm Salal dropped from fourth to seventh. Notably, Al Khor remain the only team yet to secure a win this season.

The opening match of the round saw Al Rayyan secure a victory, breaking their streak of consecutive losses with a score of two goals to one against Al Khor. The goals for Al Rayyan were netted by Ivorian Yohan Boli and Brazilian Roger Guedes, while Al Khor’s goal was an own goal by Boli.

As a result, Al Rayyan’s points increased to nine, placing them in eighth position, whereas Al Khor remained stagnant on three points, occupying the 12th and final position.

Al Sadd maintained their winning momentum by defeating Al Shahania ahead of their highly-anticipated clash with Iran’s Persepolis in the third round of AFC Champions League Elite at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.

The goals for Al Sadd were scored by Mustafa Tariq, Rafa Mujica, Cristo Gonzalez and an own goal by Al Shahania player Pelle van Amersfoort, while Alhassan Koroma netted two goals for Al Shahania.

Following this victory, Al Sadd’s points rose to 12, securing third place, while Al Shahania’s tally remained on five points, placing them in 11th position.

Al Gharafa turned a one-goal deficit into a 3-1 victory over Umm Salal to continue their brilliance locally and in Asia. Umm Salal took the lead in the 49th minute through Antonio Mance, but Joselu equalized for The Cheetahs from a penalty kick. Ferjani Sassi added the second goal before Jamal Hamad sealed the win in stoppage time.

Al Gharafa’s points increased to 11, placing them in fourth position, ahead of Al Wakrah on goal difference, who also have 11 points. Meanwhile, Umm Salal remained on 10 points, positioned seventh.

In a notable match at Al Khor Stadium, Al Shamal secured a significant victory over Al Arabi. The goals for Al Shamal were netted by Baghdad Bounedjah, who scored a hat-trick, and Mohammed Omar, who contributed two goals. Al Arabi managed to score through Alaaeldin Hassan and Yazan Al Naimat. With this win, Al Shamal’s points rose to 10, moving them up to sixth place, while Al Arabi’s total remained on seven points, placing them ninth.

Qatar SC achieved a crucial victory, defeating Al Wakrah 2-1. The match saw the dismissal of Al Wakrah defender Almahdi Ali. Although Al Wakrah initially took the lead with a goal from Ricardo Gomes, Qatar SC responded with goals from Eissa Ahmad and Khaled Mahmoudi, earning three points and elevating their total to seven points, which places them 10th in the standings after their second win of the season. Al Wakrah, on the other hand, remained on 11 points.

Al Duhail achieved a return to winning form following their defeat in the sixth round against Al Shahania.

They secured a victory over Al Ahli with a solitary goal from Michael Olunga. This win allowed Al Duhail to maintain their position at the top of standings, marking their sixth victory and accumulating a total of 18 points.

In contrast, Al Ahli’s points total remained on 14 as they suffered their first loss of the season; however, they retained their second-place position, ahead of Al Sadd, who are in third place, by two points.
