The matches of Week 15 of the Ooredoo Stars League 2024-2025 season witnessed thrill, rivalry and close contests with teams making strong efforts to gain points; with some clubs looking to improve their rankings while aiming to end the season in the best positions.

Al Ahli lost to Qatar SC 0-3

Umm Salal lost to Al Sadd 1-0

Al Duhail beat Al Wakrah 2-0

Al Shamal lost to Al Gharafa 1-2

Al Shahania beat Al Rayyan 2-1

Al Khor lost to Al Arabi 3-4

All six matches produced exciting results with as many as 19 goals being scored at an average of 3.16 goals per match. The most number of goals were produced in the match between Al Khor and Al Arabi (7 goals), while Qatar SC, Al Duhail and Al Sadd came out with clean sheets.

The round also witnessed 4 penalty kicks, two of which were missed. There was no red card shown in any of the matches.

Al Shahania emerged as one of the most prominent beneficiaries during the week as they advanced from seventh to fifth place after their win over Al Rayyan – who dropped to eighth.

Al Shahania achieved their third successive victory, continuing their progress in the standings and to rise to fifth place with 20 points.

Qatar SC also advanced from ninth place to seventh on goal difference over Al Shamal (sixth) and Al Arabi advanced one rung - moving to 10th from being 11th, while Umm Salal dropped to 11th spot after their loss. Al Khor remained bottom-placed in 12th spot.

Leaders Al Duhail strengthened their position taking the tally to 35 points and are followed by Al Sadd and Al Gharafa in second and third respectively with 31 points (the goal difference being in Al Sadd’s favour). Al Ahli are in fourth place with 28 points.

Qatar SC, in the opening match of the week, beat Al Ahli 3-0 for their consecutive victory, having beaten Al Sadd and Al Shamal earlier. The goals were scored by Sebastian Soria in the 25th minute, Carlinhos from a penalty kick in the 45+9 minute, and Ben Malango, scoring the third goal, in the 46th minute.

Al Duhail continued their winning streak, prevailing over Al Wakrah 2-0. Karim Boudiaf (second minute) and Michael Olunga (56th minute) scored for The Red Knights.

Akram Afif led Al Sadd to an exciting 1-0 victory over Umm Salal striking the winner in the sixth minute to ensure the defending champions gained the three valuable points.

Al Gharafa succeeded with strong performances defeating Al Shamal 2-1. Baghdad Bounedjah opened the scoring for them in the 56th minute, before Ferjani Sassi equalized for Al Gharafa in the 60th minute. In the second minute of stoppage time, Mohammed Muntari got the winning goal for Al Gharafa.

Al Arabi regained their winning touch edging hosts Al Khor 4-3. Al Arabi's goals were scored by Youssef Msakni (14th minute), Ahmed Alaaeldin (27th minute), and by Italian Marco Verratti (46th and 90+3 minutes). Al Khor's goals were scored by Khaled Radwan (9th minute), Ricardo Gomes (45th minute), and Sofiane Hanni (90+5 minute).

Al Shahania registered an exciting 2-1 win over Al Rayyan. The goals for Al Shahania were scored by Dutchman Sven van Beek and Belgian Francisco Antonucci in the 32nd and 37th minutes, while Al Rayyan’s only goal came from Brazilian Roger Guedes from a penalty kick (90+4 minute).
