Hamad Bin Khalifa Stadium of Al Ahli club will host the Week 16 match of 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League between Muaither and Al Ahli on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.  The kick-off is at 8pm.

It is a very important encounter for both teams.

Both teams are looking to return to winning ways during this match, as Al Ahli suffered a loss against Umm Salal in the previous round with two goals to one, while Muaither drew 0-0 with Al  Shamal.

Al Ahli currently occupy the eighth position in the standings with 15 points from five wins and nine losses, while Muaither are in the 11th and penultimate position with 10 points from two wins, four draws and eight losses.

Muaither are now threatened by a pursuit from Al Markhiya, who succeeded in achieving their second victory against Al Wakrah in the previous round, reducing the gap between them to three points. Al Ahli, on the other hand, are only three points away from Al Shamal (10th position) and want to distance themselves from the danger zone.

The team may regain the services of their Jordanian striker Yazan Al Naimat, after his absence in the previous round against Umm Salal due to an injury in the match against Al Gharafa in Week 14. This will undoubtedly strengthen the team’s attack along with the highly-performing Omar Sekou in addition to the German star Julian Draxler.

Meanwhile, Muaither rely on their defensive strength after the inclusion of Jordanian defender Yazan Al Arab to confront Al Ahli’s offensive power and they are seeking to score goals against their opponents to snatch the three points and enhance their position in the table.

Muaither have not lost in the last two matches, as they won against Al Markhiya in Week 14, then drew with Al Shamal in Week 15, which indicates a noticeable improvement in the team after the winter transfers.
