Al Duhail coach Luis Castro spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 10 match against Umm Salal.
“Our last match in the league was against Al Sadd a month and a half ago, and then the Qatari and international players went to their camps. About the match, I say that Umm Salal have not succeeded in beating us in the last five matches, and it is a team that relies on defensive performance and has strength on the counter-attack.
“We enter all matches with the aim of achieving victory, with great respect for Umm Salal. In order to beat Umm Salal we will play hard.
“I congratulate the Qatar national team for their outstanding performance in the FIFA Arab Cup, and I liked the players’ discipline on the field, as well as their love for upholding the colours of their country in all matches in the tournament,” said Castro.
Al Duhail player Nam Tae-Hee said, “The match will not be easy for both teams. We stopped for a long time because of the Arab Cup and we were training without a large number of international players. We worked intensively with the technical staff in the recent period to prepare for the Umm Salal match.
“We will face a good team with a new coach and I know him well. He was a strong defensive player and for sure we will face a good team defensively and reliant on counter-attacks, which will make the task difficult for us.
“We are a team that wants to win the league shield, where we are only three points away from Al Sadd, and I see our team on the right track and performing in a distinguished manner.”
