Al Shamal coach David Prats spoke to the media ahead of their 2026-2027 season Doha Bank Stars League Week 9 match against Al Sailiya.

“We anticipate a difficult challenge against a strong side that features high-calibre players.

“Although Al Sailiya’s current position in the league standings may not be high, we hold them in great regard and recognize their quality. Therefore, we must exercise extreme caution when facing them.

“We need to play with intensity and focus on the finer details to ensure we perform as expected and translate our solid displays into a positive result,” said Prats.

Al Shamal player Abdullah Al Ahrak said, “We fully grasp the importance of this game and the necessity of securing a win and all three points, as we look to get back to winning ways following a recent dry spell.

“Al Sailiya are a major club with exceptional players and facing them is always a tough task. We must remain focused from the very first minute until the final whistle to achieve our objective – securing the victory.”
