Al Sailiya coach Sami Trabelsi spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 7 match against Al Rayyan.
“It will be difficult match for both teams and I hope my team will present a good level to achieve a positive result and three points. The match will be even and the chances equal for both teams.
“The preparations were difficult, especially at the beginning, after the defeat against Al Wakrah, which was heavy on the hearts of everyone in Al Sailiya club. During the preparations, we tried to correct the mistakes and find solutions to the lack of confidence in front of the goal and the wasted easy opportunities.
“We still have a great work to do on the offensive front because we have not scored many goals and that is a big problem for us. It needs to be fixed so that we can improve our position in the league table.
“Al Rayyan are a great team having many big names and presented a very good match in the Amir Cup final, but not the strong Al Rayyan team that we knew in the past years. We are looking for a positive result, so our gap with the leading teams will not be big. We are trying to arrest the series of negative results.
“The game will not be easy and it is expected that Al Rayyan will put up a strong show in order to put behind the Amir Cup final loss, even though they were not bad and appeared at a good level in that match,” said Trabelsi.
Al Sailiya player Mustafa Mohammed said, “Our preparations for the match were good, especially on the psychological front, after we lost 0-1 to Al Wakrah in the last round.
“The results did not help us in the recent period, although the team is performing at a good level, and we need to be at the highest levels of concentration on the field because we will face a large, very strong and complete team that is always looking for victory. I expect it to be a difficult game because we seek to get out of the circle of negative results. On the other hand, Al Rayyan are coming off a defeat in the Amir Cup 2021 final and they will also seek to reap the three points.”
