Umm Salal coach Damir Canadi spoke to the media ahead of their 2026-2027 season Jetour League Week 2 match against Mesaimeer.

“I am not happy with the draw in the last match against the Qatar U-23 national team because we were aiming for a win. However, the match was very beneficial; we identified our mistakes and gained valuable experience.

“Mesaimeer are a strong team that plays an attacking style and we have studied them well. We must play with full concentration. If we perform well for 60 minutes, I believe we will secure the points,” said Canadi.

Umm Salal player Diab Haroun said, “We played a good match against the Qatar U-23 national team and deserved the win, but a point is better than nothing. The future is brighter and we will make up for it against Mesaimeer.

“The team is in high spirits and despite the squad not being at full strength, we are ready. We have watched our opponent and studied their match against Muaither. We will give our best to get the three points.”
