Al Wakrah coach Marquez Lopez spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 21 match against Al Shamal.

“I will change the starting lineup in the Al Shamal match and these changes are necessary.

“In general, the time was not great in preparing for this match and we did not do much training, considering that the last match was only three days ago, but we tried to prepare well for the Al Shamal match.

“The most important thing is to continue with the same winning mentality, but when we get more points, that is better for Al Wakrah. We want to continue our journey with the same mentality,” said Marquez.

Al Wakrah player Abdulghani Munir said, “The match will be difficult for both teams, but we are determined to collect the three points to continue the series of victories in the league. This does not make me underestimate the Al Shamal team, which deserves praise for their great efforts this season.

“Every match has its own circumstances and we were not able to beat Al Shamal in the first leg because the conditions of the match did not serve Al Wakrah well at the time. But we will prove that Al Wakrah are a difficult team in the league, as we are in third place. We will enter the match in a strong way.”
