Al Rayyan coach Nicholas Cordova spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League Week 14 match against Al Ahli.

“The Al Ahli match is very important. We had a good week to prepare and time to prepare well for this match. All of our focus is on this match only and not on the AFC Champions League meeting with Al Duhail.

“Everyone knows that Al Rayyan are one of the biggest clubs in Qatar and we are re-building the team for the future. This needs time and part of our plan is to prepare the players for the future. For our next match in the AFC Champions League (on February 19), we will work to prepare the team in the best way,” said Cordova.

Al Rayyan player Yohan Boli said, “Regarding the Al Ahli match, I cannot say much but our preparation has been good during this week. We had enough time and we are ready to play a good and strong match.

“It is a good thing that the team has the services of all the foreign professionals and we hope that they will be ready for this match.

“What is certain is that the team is focusing on this match now with the aim of achieving what is required and not our forthcoming AFC Champions League meeting.”
