Umm Salal coach Wesam Rizik spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 18 match against Al Sadd.
“Facing Al Sadd will not be easy. Rather, it will be difficult and the team’s strongest game this season, so our preparations were strong and in full swing. All players trained seriously and enthusiastically, and I hope that we will have a strong reaction that compensates for our loss to Al Sadd in the first leg.
“Al Sadd are a strong team and the strongest contenders for the league title because of their great potential and high-level players. Hence, the difficulty of the game, but my confidence in the players of Umm Salal is great and we hope to present a good match worthy of the team.
“Facing Al Sadd will not be easy for the team and requires more efforts in order to provide the best technical form on the field to achieve the desired result. Al Sadd are the leaders and are a strong team, but Umm Salal also present a distinguished level, which means that the match will be strong between the two teams,” said Wesam.
Umm Salal player Abdullah Khaled said, “Our team is determined to compensate for the loss to Qatar SC in the last round and we aspire to win in order to reach the top four because it is a goal that we all seek this season.
“I know that the competition is tough, but we are determined to help the team and perform at our best.
“The team will give off everything it has, so we have the technical advantage in the upcoming matches.”
“The preparations have been completed to the fullest, especially since coach Wesam Rizik has prepared the team and given us special instructions for the match. The mistakes that occurred during the Qatar SC match in the last round were corrected.”
