Al Sadd and Al Duhail played out a goalless draw in a high-intensity match in Week 6 of the 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium of Al Sadd club on Thursday.

The highly-anticipated encounter lived up to its pre-match billing as both sides displayed amazing football artistry to the delight of fans who thronged the stadium in large numbers.

Despite several attempts, neither of the two ‘gladiators’ could, however, break the deadlock in the first half as their defensive lineups did a yeoman’s job of stemming off any attempts at goal.

Akram Afif went close to changing the tide for Al Sadd in the 23rd minute when his overhead kick, which beat an on-rushing goalkeeper Bautista Burke, was splendidly cleared off the goal line by Al Duhail’s Jean-Charles Castelletto, to the painful disappointment of The Wolves bench and stand.

The second half was no different from the first, with numerous opportunities created and missed, some of which were quite glaring.

Al Sadd’s Mohammed Waad had the last chance at scoring in the 83rd minute, but his left-footed shot from outside the box, following a brilliant assist by Roberto Firmino, missed to the right, ensuring that the game ended with no clear winners.
