Al Shamal face Al Gharafa in Week 3 of the 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League. The kick-off is at 19:35 at the Al Thumama Stadium on Wednesday, 17th August, 2022.

A keen clash awaits with both these teams aiming for a return with a win after Al Shamal lost in the last round against Al Sailiya 1-2 and Al Gharafa tied with Al Wakrah 1-1.

While the task seems difficult, Al Gharafa would be motivated to gain three points to progress having collected four points thus far from a win and a tie.

As for Al Shamal, they have three points so far with a win and a loss. They had beaten Al Rayyan 1-0 in their opener.

Al Gharafa are still unbeaten and as such it would be challenging for Al Shamal especially since The Cheetahs (Al Gharafa) have made an impressive start to the new season. They also now have Yacine Brahimi in their ranks.

Al Shamal coach Hicham Zahid knows well that his team’s task will not be easy in this encounter against Al Gharafa, who are looking to compete in the new season for the title. Al Gharafa are expected to enter the meeting with both aggression and caution. The match is therefore expected to be an exciting one.

Zahid is counting on his in-form players, particularly Amjad Atwan, Loic Landre, Mohammed El Sayed (Geddo), Yacine Bammou, Matthias Nani and Abdelaziz Mitwali to deliver the goods.

Al Gharafa coach Andrea Stramaccioni will depend on his team which excelled in the last match, most notably among the players being Brahimi, Mahdi Tahrat, Almahdi Ali, Andri Syahputra, Nasser Al Ahraq and Moyad Hassan.
