Al Shamal and Al Rayyan will fight it out in Round 4 (Group B) of the 2023-2024 season Ooredoo Cup at the Al Khor Stadium on Sunday, November 12, 2023. The kick-off is at 7.30pm.

Al Markhiya, Al Duhail and Al Gharafa are the other teams in Group B.

Al Rayyan will enter the match looking for their second victory in the group stage following a win and a loss so far which places them in the third spot of the rankings with three points, behind leaders Al Markhiya (seven points) and Al Duhail (six points).

Al Shamal, in contrast, are looking to score their first win in the tournament, just as they did in the league championship last week. They lost 1-2 to Al Duhail in the opening round and lost 0-2 to Al Markhiya in the second round.

Al Shamal have scored only one goal against their rivals thus far and conceded four goals.

Under Poya Asbaghi, Al Shamal had registered a 2-1 victory over Al Ahli in Week 8 of Expo Stars League last week, their first victory, and aim to continue the strong performance despite the different nature of both tournaments.

Al Rayyan coach Leonardo Jardim realizes that Ooredoo Cup is an opportunity for him to push his team into good form and get into a winning run.
