QNB Stars League champions Al Sadd are up against Al Faisaly of Saudi Arabia in the sixth and final round of 2022 AFC Champions League Group E on Wednesday, 27th April. The match will kick off at 23:15 at the Prince Mohamed bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam.
Uzbekistan’s Nasaf will play Al Wehdat of Jordan in the other match in the group the same day from 20:15 onwards at the same venue.
Al Sadd are last in Group E with four points and were out of contention for the knockout Round of 16 following their 1-3 loss to Nasaf in the fifth round.
Al Faisaly are leading the group with nine points, followed by Nasaf (eight points) and Al Wehdat (five points).
Al Sadd had drawn 1-1 with Nasaf in their opener and then lost 1-2 to Al Faisaly in the second round.
The Wolves beat Al Wehdat 5-2 in the third round, but lost 1-3 to the same opponents in the back-to-back match.
Having been out of the race to progress to the next stage, Al Sadd coach Javi Gracia may give opportunity to youngsters for them to gain more experience at the continental level.
The top team from each group will qualify for the Round of 16 along with the three best second-placed teams from the five West Asia groups.
