The Al Sadd team continues to train at their overseas camp in Austria for the new football season 2023-2024.

Al Sadd began their training on the 1st of July at Seefeld in Austria and will continue until the 15th of July during which the team will also be playing three friendly matches. The first of these friendlies was played on Wednesday evening (5 July) against the SVG Reichenau club of Austria. Al Sadd won the match 4-0.

The coaching staff of Al Sadd is by their Spaniard coach Juan Manuel Lillo “Juanma”, who aims to give opportunity to many players in the friendlies to gauge their response to the work they have been putting in during their training in Doha before traveling to Austria in preparation for the new season.

It was decided to adjust the date for the team's return from its outdoor camp to July 15th instead of the previous date of July 19. This comes in light of a friendly match to be played at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium between Al Sadd and Raja Club Athletic of Morocco on July 21 as part of preparations for clubs participating in the King Salman Cup.

It is worth noting that the Al Sadd team has succeeded in strengthening its ranks with a number of professional international players, foremost among them being Brazilian left-back Paulo Otavio from German club Wolfsburg and forward Giovani Henrique from Brazilian Palmeiras.

Al Sadd have also contracted Colombian midfielder Matias of Portuguese club Porto and Iranian defender Mohammad Amin Hazbavi of Foolad Khuzestan.

Al Sadd, meanwhile, have also renewed the contract of their Brazilian midfielder Guilherme Torres for two more seasons until 2025 and have kept Algerian striker Baghdad Bounedjah in the ranks for the next season.

Soon after their outdoor camp in Austria, Al Sadd will compete in the King Salman Club Championship which will be held in Saudi Arabia from July 27 to August 12 with the participation of 16 Arab teams, where Al Sadd are in the second group alongside Saudi Al Hilal, Moroccan Wydad and Libya’s Al Ahly Tripoli.
