Al Rayyan face Al Ahli in Week 4 of the 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League. The kick-off is at 17:20 at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium on Tuesday, 23rd August, 2022.

Al Ahli, who had lost 2-3 to reigning champions Al Sadd in the last round, will be keen to make up for it. The Brigadiers had put up a good fight before going down fighting.

Al Ahli have four points with one win, draw and loss each. Nebojsa Jovovic’s wards had beaten Umm Salal 1-0 in Week 1 and drawn 1-1 with Al Duhail in Week 2.

Al Ahli have the likes of Jordanian star Yazan Al Naimat, their top scorer with two goals, and Algerian attacking midfielder Sofiane Hanni, who joined them from Al Gharafa this season.

Al Ahli are motivated enough to put up a strong display against Al Rayyan who, on the other hand, would be keen to open their account on the table.

Al Rayyan are the only side yet to earn a point. The Lions have lost all their matches (0-1 to Al Shamal in Week 1, 1-2 to Al Arabi in Week 2 and 1-2 to Al Duhail in Week 3).

That puts additional pressure on Chilean coach Nicolas Cordova, who had better help Al Rayyan improve their position in the standings sooner.

Despite the brilliance of Ivorian striker Yohan Boli, who has scored two goals, Al Rayyan have struggled especially with their defensive line and have so far conceded five goals.
