Al Rayyan face Sharjah FC in the fourth round of 2022 AFC Champions League Group A on Tuesday, 19th April. The match will kick off at 20:15 at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh.
Tajikistan’s Istiklol take on Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal in the other group match the same day from 23:15 onwards.
Both matches are back-to-back, the teams having faced off in the third round.
Al Rayyan had beaten Tajikistan’s Istiklol 3-2 in their opener, but lost 0-3 to title holders Al Hilal in the second round.
In the third round, Al Rayyan and Sharjah played out a 1-1 draw.
Bernard took Sharjah ahead, a lead that was neutralized by Steven Nzonzi for Al Rayyan.
Al Rayyan and Sharjah are both on four points, but the latter are placed second on better goal difference.
Al Hilal are on top of Group C with nine points and an all-win record.
Istiklol are last and have yet to open their account, having lost all their games.
Sharjah had lost to Al Hilal in their opener, but bounced back to beat Istiklol in the second round.
Victory and three points will be crucial for either side if they are to cherish knockout hopes.
Al Rayyan coach Nicolas Cordova will mainly count on the vast experience of Algerian attacking midfielder Yacine Brahimi and Ivorian striker Yohan Boli to put it across Sharjah.
