Al Markhiya coach Poya Asbaghi spoke to the media ahead of their 2026-2027 season Jetour League Week 2 match against Al Gharafa.

“The victory in the first round was a good start for Al Markhiya after the team managed to score three goals and keep a clean sheet.

“The team has put the first match behind it and shifted its focus several days ago to the upcoming match against Al Gharafa. The opponent has a well-organized defence, which makes the match a test of Al Markhiya’s attacking capabilities,” said Asbaghi.

Al Markhiya player Abdelghani Laallam said, “The victory in the first round had a positive impact on the team's morale, indicating that happiness and confidence prevail within the group, while stressing the importance of moving beyond the joy of the victory and focusing fully on the second match.
