Al Gharafa face Al Duhail in Round 3, Group B of the 2022-2023 season Ooredoo Cup on Sunday, 2nd October. The kick-off is at 19.15 at the Al Egla 4 Stadium.

The Al Duhail vs Al Gharafa match is a crucial one for both teams - currently occupying the first and second place respectively in the group standings.

Al Duhail lead Group B with six points from two wins - 8-3 over Al Markhiya in the first round and 3-2 over Al Arabi in the second round.

Al Gharafa are second with four points, with a 4-3 victory in the first round over Al Rayyan and a 0-0 draw in the second round against Al Shamal.

As such, the contest will be a battle for the leadership position and there is no doubt that Al Duhail (despite the lack of star players who are now with their national teams) have enough firepower to achieve wins, especially in light of the brilliance of their Kenyan striker Michael Olunga, who has two hat-tricks in the Ooredoo Cup so far and tops the scorers' list with six goals.
