Qatar’s Al Gharafa will begin their 2022 AFC Champions League campaign by facing Iranian side Foolad Khouzestan in Group C on Thursday, 7th April. The match will kick off at 20:15 at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Al Gharafa will be keen to start off with a victory, but their task will not be easy as Foolad are sure to use their full force with the same aim.
Al Gharafa, coached by Italian Andrea Stramaccioni, have a number of players who are able to make a difference. The Cheetahs have the likes of Sofiane Hanni, Cheikh Diabate, Ahmed Alaaeldin, Homam Al Ameen and Gabriel Perez.
Stramaccioni will be hoping that his wards would bring out their best, so they can progress to the next round.
Al Gharafa will also be looking forward to seize early advantage, given that Foolad will definitely seek a positive result.
On the other hand, Spanish coach Jesus Javier Noble of Foolad will have victory in mind in order to help boost the morale of his players.
Foolad have many standout players in their ranks, such as Brazilian Luciano Pereira who has great technical abilities.
