Al Gharafa face Al Rayyan in Round 1, Group B of 2022-2023 season Ooredoo Cup on Tuesday, 20th September. The kick-off is at 20:05 at the Al Wakrah Stadium.

Al Duhail, Al Markhiya, Al Arabi and Al Shamal are the other teams in Group B.

Group A has Al Sadd, Al Sailiya, Al Wakrah, Umm Salal, Al Ahli and Qatar SC.

A challenging and important match for both Al Gharafa and Al Rayyan will see each of the sides strive to provide their best and make gains from the tournament.

Al Gharafa will be looking to correct the mistakes that appeared recently during the league championship and try a number of new players in the tournament in order to prepare the team for the upcoming engagements.

Al Gharafa are placed fourth in the 2022-2023 QNB Stars League with 12 points after seven weeks of action.

Al Gharafa’s Italian coach Andrea Stramaccioni will also look to introduce new tactics and introduce some players who have not had much of a chance during the previous matches.

As for Al Rayyan coach Nicolas Cordova, he will be seeking to make the most of the tournament by trying out his players and by helping them correct their mistakes after they fell in the league table to the last place with just one point from the draw against Umm Salal.
