Al Gharafa Club has announced the extension of its contract with the first team coach Pedro Martins for the next two seasons, until the summer of 2026.
The club confirmed that Martins, who won the Best Coach Award last season 2023-2024, will head the team’s technical staff to lead it in the next stage, starting from the 2024-2025 season.
The Portuguese coach had assumed responsibility by leading Al Gharafa for the first time in 2022, and was with the team for two seasons, coming from the Greek club Olympiacos which he coached between 2018 and 2022 and with whom he won the Greek League title three times.
During his career with Al Gharafa, the coach achieved third place in the league championship last season, reached the semi-finals of the Amir Cup, and lost in the semi-finals to Al Rayyan in the Qatar Cup.
Next season, Al Gharafa will participate in the preliminary round of the AFC Champions League Elite Championship and the team is looking forward to reaching the group stage.
Al Gharafa announced that the first team’s preparatory camp for the new season will be held in Slovakia from July 16th to August 1st, 2024.
