Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium of Al Duhail club will host the heavyweight match between Al Duhail and Al Wakrah in Week 15 of the 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League on Friday, February 7, 2025. The kick-off is at 6.45pm.

Al Duhail aim to solidify their position at the top of the standings, currently holding first place with 32 points, which is four points ahead of their nearest rivals, Al Sadd, Al Gharafa and Al Ahli.

Conversely, Al Wakrah are striving to enhance their standing in the league after dropping to eighth place with 17 points, trailing Al Shahania in seventh on goal difference.

In the previous round, Al Duhail returned to winning form with a significant 2-1 victory over Umm Salal, following a goalless draw against Al Rayyan in Week 13.

On the other hand, Al Wakrah faced a setback, losing 0-1 to Al Shahania, marking their seventh defeat of the season, alongside five wins and two draws. Consequently, they are eager to rectify their performance and improve their results.

Al Duhail recently bolstered their squad by signing Moroccan star Hakim Ziyech, who will enhance the attacking lineup alongside Almoez Ali, Edmilson Junior and Michael Olunga.

The primary challenge for the coaching staff of Al Wakrah, led by Poya Asbaghi, will be to counter Al Duhail’s formidable attack.

Al Wakrah have experienced significant inconsistencies in their results since the season’s outset. In the early part of second leg, the team managed only one victory against Al Arabi, winning 4-3, while suffering two defeats to Al Ahli (3-6) and Al Shahania (0-1).

Al Duhail maintain their impressive form, having recently secured the title of winter champions.

They are determined to avoid any loss of points in order to preserve their position at the top of standings, setting the stage for an intense and significant clash between the two teams.
