Al Arabi face Al Markhiya in Week 3 of the 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League. The kick-off is at 17:25 at the Education City Stadium on Tuesday, 16th August, 2022.

Table toppers Al Arabi and promoted team Al Markhiya will both be aiming to keep up the momentum after their blistering starts to the league in the new season.

Al Arabi finished the last season among the top four teams and their ambition is to go further this season, while the target is to keep achieving for Al Markhiya.

Off the field, the match would also be a battle between the national coaches Abdullah Mubarak of Al Markhiya, who is well-known for his experience and for guiding the local players, and Al Arabi’s Younes Ali, who has proved his abilities as a talented coach, having earlier excelled as a player.

Both sides, however, will need to strengthen their ranks in the absence of top players. Al Arabi’s Mohammed Bader Sayyar received a red card in the final minutes of their last match against Al Rayyan, while Al Markhiya’s Ayoub Azzi suffered a similar consequence in the clash against Qatar SC.

For Al Arabi though, they have a Syrian newcomer in Omar Al Somah, who is looking to make a positive start along with Abdulaziz Al Ansari and Yousef Msakni, who scored a wonderful goal against Al Rayyan.

Al Markhiya are counting on their Moroccan star Driss Fettouhi and top scorer Aymen Hussein, who has so far scored three goals in two matches, to deliver the goods and continue the team’s strong performance.
