Al Duhail coach Djamel Belmadi spoke to the media ahead of their 2026-2027 season Doha Bank Stars League Week 5 match against Al Shamal.

“Naturally, during the long international break, we worked hard to prepare the players by competing in QSL Cup. We aim to translate the preparations made during the break into positive results in the coming period. We are ready for this match and will work diligently to secure the three points.

“We played tough matches against strong teams like Al Arabi and Al Rayyan. The encounter with Al Shamal will certainly be a challenging one as they are a good team that is making progressive strides,” said Belmadi.

Al Duhail player Lucas Silva (Tuta) said, “The team has prepared very well for the match against Al Shamal. We anticipate a tough match. We started the league campaign well, facing difficult fixtures, and played two good QSL Cup matches against Al Arabi and Al Shahania during the break, which helped us prepare thoroughly.

“We know Al Shamal have high-calibre players and that beating them will not be easy, but we are determined to win the match and secure the three points.”
