The Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium of Al Rayyan club will play host to one of the most prominent matches in Week 17 of the 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League between Al Rayyan and Al Arabi on Thursday, February 27, 2025. The kick-off is at 7pm.
Al Rayyan are currently in seventh place in the standings with 21 points following their big 4-0 win over Al Wakrah 4-0 in the previous round. The Lions have so far registered six wins, three draws and seven defeats, scoring 30 goals and conceding 27.
Al Arabi are in eighth place with 19 points after their 4-2 win over Al Ahli in the last round. The Dream Team have so far recorded five wins, four draws and seven defeats, with 29 goals and having conceded 41 thus far in the league championship.
The match is of great importance for both Al Rayyan and Al Arabi due to the strong competition between the two teams, as each side seeks to improve their position in the standings. The slim difference in points between them also adds to the excitement.
Al Rayyan coach Artur Jorge will be mainly counting on his players Brazilian striker Roger Guedes, who led the team to victory over Al Wakrah by scoring two goals, Mahmoud Trezeguet, defender David Garcia and captain Abdulaziz Hatem.
Al Arabi will also seek to continue achieving positive results and their coach Pablo Amo will be relying on a group of players, most notably Tunisian forward Youssef Msakni, Ahmed Fathi, Rodri Sanchez, Ahmed Alaaeldin and Marco Verratti.
Al Arabi had won the first-leg match against Al Rayyan 2-1 at the Al Thumama Stadium in Week 6 of the league championship.
