Sami Trabelsi has signed a new three-year deal with Al Sailiya.<br />
<br />
The Tunisian head coach joined the Peregrines in 2013 and has overseen a period of stability. He led Sailiya to a fourth-placed finish in his first season – a fine achievement considering the side ended the previous campaign in 12th and only avoided relegation due to the league’s expansion.<br />
<br />
In 2014-15 Sailiya dropped to 11th but Trabelsi has overseen improvements this season to lead his men to seventh place with seven games to go.<br />
<br />
Sailiya were keen to sign up Trabelsi and his backroom team on a long contract.<br />
<br />
Abdullah Al Aidah, president of Al Sailiya, said: “As long as I’m the president, Trabelsi won’t leave.”<br />
<br />
Trabelsi himself said he would have been happy to sign a five-year contract.<br />
<br />
“Al Sailiya is my home and staying here isn’t linked to contracts or agreements. I don’t consider Abdullah Al Aidah as merely the club president – we have a strong connection and he is like a brother to me.”<br />
