With Al Sadd at today’s Qatar Stars League Media Day we managed to grab a few moments with Al Sadd forward Muriqui to get his thoughts on the new season which will kick off on September 11.

“I’m very happy to feel fit and be ready for the start of the league. Last season I wasn’t ready for the start of the season due to an operation which put me out of action for a long time.”

When asked about the Wolves new signings the Brazilian forward added, “This season Al Sadd will do better than last season, the arrival of Xavi will help the team a lot. With regards to myself, I feel ready to score more than I did before.”

Asked about the overseas preseason camp, the forward said that the team focussed on fitness and also had a number of friendly matches which helped the team “gel” ahead of the new season.
Muriqui then concluded by saying, “The season will be very hard and stronger than last season because teams have bolstered their squads very well. I expect to see 6 teams fighting for the title and trophies. We will be among them and hopefully come out on top.”
