New Lekhwiya striker Mohammed Muntari has said that he is now comfortable with his new team and has quickly settled in.
 
He said to the club’s official website, "I have friends at Lekhwiya who have represented the Qatar National Team where we have often trained together, so I don’t feel like a stranger."
 
Commenting on how he transferred from El Jaish to Lekhwiya, he said: "I received a call from El Jaish’s management during my summer vacation and they informed me about the desire of Lekhwiya to sign me, this made me very happy because Lekhwiya is big club with lots of titles so I didn't hesitate in joining them."
 
Muntari stressed that he is seeking to win titles with Lekhwiya and said: "I would love to gain some titles with Lekhwiya. In addition, there are so many top quality players at Lekhwiya so they will no doubt help me to score a lot of goals for the team. I’m excited to play with Lekhwiya and can’t wait for the new season.”
 
Commenting on the comparison between him and Lekhwiya’s previous striker Sebastian Soria, he said: "Sebastian is a big player and I respect him a lot, I hope I can achieve similar accomplishments like him."
 
Muntari expressed his happiness for playing with the Korean Nam Tae Hee and said: "I consider Nam Tae Hee my role model in this league, but on the international stage I take inspiration from Neymar and Reus."
 
Commenting on his aspirations with the National Team he added, "I have only recently joined the National Team, I hope to become a top goal scorer and reach the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and AFC Asian Cup in 2019."
