Al Kharaitiyat’s Head of Football Mansour Musa is focusing on the crunch game with runaway leaders Al Rayyan following his side’s 3-2 victory over Qatar Sports Club.
The Thunders moved on to 17 points after Monday’s win at Al Wakrah Stadium and are currently in 8th position in the QSL.

But next they face Al Rayyan, who have won 13 out of 14 games this season and currently possess a big lead at the QSL summit.

Musa said: “Everyone knows how strong Al Rayyan are at the moment. We know it will be a tough fixture for us but we are confident of giving a good account of ourselves.”

Kharaitiyat will face Rayyan on Saturday 2 January at Gharafa Stadium, kick-off 18:45.
Musa also discussed the win over Qatar Sports Club, which was achieved despite the absence of strikers Hassan Abdel-Fattah and Abdulaziz Al Ansari.

He added: “It was an exciting game, full of ups and downs. The team took their chances, which was pleasing. However, we were disappointed to concede two goals due to lack of concentration and poor positional play.

“We missed Hassan and Abdulaziz, along with other players. Hopefully some of them will return against Al Rayyan.”
