Al Kharaitiyat Football Club is currently in the 9th position in the Qatar Stars League after the conclusion of Round 8. The Thunders have just 7 points this season after results have largely not gone their way. They have two wins, one draw and five defeats.

Commenting on the team’s current position and his future vision, Al Kharaitiyat Head of Football said that the current league stoppage is considered a good opportunity to rectify the team’s mistakes. “The instability we have been through during the previous rounds must be corrected. We will be playing a friendly game versus Al Sailiya on November 14 to ensure we stay match fit and focused.

He said, “When the league resumes, the team will play against Al Sadd in Round 9 but you could say its bad timing as we are suffering from suspensions.  Domings and Shami will both not play.”

He went on to explain that both are very crucial players especially Domingos who is the heart of the defence. After Al Sadd, we will take on Al Gharafa, Al Wakrah and Al Khor respectively.”

Mansour added, “We are working hard to overcome the teams current position and we have no fear of relegation, we are confident that the team will bounce back.”

Commenting on the possibility of changes in the team when the winter transfer window reopens, Moussa said, “Currently there is no thought being given to making wholesale changes. Things are in the hands of the club’s management to decide.”

Commenting on the Qatar Stars League this season, he said, “This is a different season from the previous ones, it is stronger and tougher with a lot more excitement. No one can predict what will happen or who is going to win the league title. It is simply great.”

Speaking about the high fan attendance this season Moussa said, “We are very happy to witness the strong comeback of Al Rayyan and their fans as well as Al Arabi’s strong support. Their fans add a lot of colour and fun and have made a big difference for both their teams. This kind of attendance has a huge impact on the technical level of the QSL, which was clear from the results so far.”
