El Jaish team doctors have said that defender Lucas Mendez is now in stable condition after a heavy collision with fellow teammate - keeper Khalifa Abu Bakr during their Round 10 fixture with Al Rayyan.<br />

Mendez had to be substituted before the end of the first half as Mohamed Al Jabri took his position for the remainder of the match.<br />
<br />
Lucas was taken to Hamad Hospital’s accident and emergency for further examinations which revealed a fracture in his cheek bone.<br />
<br />
The defender will now require at least three weeks of treatment.<br />
<br />
El Jaish is in 2^nd place with 23 points behind Al Rayyan. El Jaish will play QSC in Round 11 of the Qatar Stars League this coming Saturday.
