Qatar Stars League (QSL) giants Lekhwiya on Thursday surged ahead with an impressive win over El Jaish but Al Kharaitiyat posted their first win in five games when they beat Mesaimeer 3-1 but not before conceding a goal against the bottom-placed side.

Alain Dioko produced a brace (56 and 64) before Ismail Mohammed slipped one past El Jaish goalkeeper to make it 3-0 for the defending championships at Hamad Bin Khalifa Stadium.

Earlier on Thursday Al Kharaitiyat, coached by Amar Osim, saw Mesaimeer open the scoring through Saoud Nasser Mohmad in the 21st minute before regrouping in style to take full points from the match at Al Khor Stadium.

It was only the 12th goal for Mesaimeer in the entire season.

Mohmad Abdul Abdulla produced the equaliser for Al Kharaitiyat in the 34th minute as both sides walked off the Al Khor Stadium pitch with a
1-1 all scoresheet.

In the second half, Al Kharaitiyat took the lead through their captain Mohmad Abdul Abdulla who found the back of the net in the 50th minute.

After a series of hard tackles and rough exchanges, Al Kharaitiyat added to their lead through Yahia Kebe who scored in the 78th minute.

Coach Osim was frustrated to see two of his players - Domingos Nascimento Santos and Mohammed Ibrahim Al‐Abdulla - pick up yellow cards despite his side leading in the match.

Eleventh-placed Al Kharaitiyat now have a tally of 21 points from 19 matches while Mesaimeer failed to add to their tally of 4 points.

Mesaimeer's Wajdi Bouazzi was booked in the 23rd minute.

Coached by Rodion Gacanin, Mesaimeer have conceded an astonishing 50 goals in 19 matches so far.

In the second game on Thursday, Lekhwiya initially failed to sparkle as both teams walked off the pitch with the scoreboard showing 0-0 at half time.

Early in the second half, El Jaish wasted a golden opportunity to take the lead when Abderrazzaq Hamed‐allah shot his penalty kick way off the mark in the 47th minute.

Chico Flores brought down Hamed‐allah in his own box, prompting the referee to flash a yellow card at the faltering Spaniard and point to the spot kick. Hamed‐allah fired the ball way above the crossbar.

However, the Djamel Belmadi-coached side regrouped quickly and fired three goals within a space of 19 minutes to pick up three points from the match.

Second-placed Lekhwiya, who were on a two-match losing streak, now have a tally of 37 points from 19 games.
