Lekhwiya imposed themselves once more in this year’s edition of the Qatar Stars League as they won the league title after an exciting yet tough campaign. The title was settled in the second last round of the league as the Red Knights defeated Al Ahli 3-1.

Lekhwiya demonstrated a convincing performance despite missing many first team players and proved that they had plenty of strength & quality coming from the substitute’s bench.

Lekhwiya’s coronation was accomplished because of their ambition and mental toughness. Al-Sadd stayed in second place after their exciting win over El Jaish 5-2. Despite that loss El Jaish remained third following the defeat incurred by Qatar against Umm Salal (3-0). While the rest of the league standing s hasn’t changed much in view of Round 25 results. Al-Gharafa lost to Al-Kharaitiyat and stayed in 5th ahead of Al Ahli 6th, but with the same points as Al-Arabi who defeated Al-Sailiya by two goals to one.

Umm Salal is still 8th despite their win over Qatar but with the same points as Al-Kharaitiyat. Al-Khor is 10th despite their win over Al-Wakrah who continues to struggle to stay in the Qatar Stars League.

Also Al-Shahania missed their chance to pass Al-Wakrah after their match with Al-Shamal. The relegation struggle will be settled in the final.  Al-Wakrah will play Al-Gharafa and Al-Shahania will face off against Al Ahli.
