Newly QSL champions Lekhwiya have begun their preparations for their home AFC Champions League clash with Iranian side Esteghlal Khuzestan.  The Red Knights are set to take on the side that is currently top of Group on Monday the 10^th of April at Lekhwiya stadium.

Djamel Belmadi’s side returned to training on Saturday evening to prepare for the match, fresh from confirming their status as 2016/2017 QSL champions with a 2-1 win over Al Ahli. One noticeable absentee from the squad was Moroccan striker Yusef El Arabi, who will miss the remainder of the season with a shoulder injury.
