Current QSL champions Lekhwiya, have announced a friendly match with Russian side Zenit Saint Petersburg.

The match will be played on January the 17 as both sides prepare of the second half of their respective seasons. The current Russian champions will be in Doha on their winter training camp, and see the clash as a perfect way to prepare for a busy and domestic and European schedule.

Lekhwiya have also resumed training after a seven day break. The side is currently in third place in the QSL standings. The management team has decided to focus their training in Qatar, rather than an overseas training camp.

They will take on Al Kharitiyat when the QSL resumes from the three week break in matches for the AFC U23 Championships, which are being held in Qatar.
