QSL side Lekhwiya kept their AFC Champions League campaign alive with an impressive 4-0 victory over Saudi side Al Nassr. Four goals in the second half now means that Djamel Belmadi’s side have a chance to qualify for the last 16.

The first half saw Lekhwiya dominate proceedings, hitting the woodwork on two occasions. However Nam Tae hee and Alain Dioko’s strikes couldn’t find the back of the net, much to the frustration of head coach Djamel Belmadi.

Thankfully the second half proved to be fruitful for the Red Knights, opening the scoring in impressive style. The ever dangerous Nam Tae Hee curled in a fine free-kick on the 49th minute to give his side the lead. On the 70th minute Lekhwiya doubled their lead with Congolese striker Alain Dioko given plenty of time and space to slot into the bottom corner.

Lekhwiya where in the ascendency, and added a further two goals in the finals minutes of the tie. Chico Flores tapped in from close range from a Mohammed Tresor cross. Qatari international striker Mohammed Muntari completed the rout in stoppage time after rounding keeper Abdullah Al Enazi.

The result leaves Lekhwiya in second place in group B ahead of a must win game away in Uzbekistan against bottom placed Bunyodkor.
