Al Shahaniya took on Al Kharaitiyat in round twenty-two of the QSL this Saturday at the Al Sadd stadium. A brace by Rachid Tiberkanine helped the Thunders overcome a spirited Shahaniya side in an exciting encounter.
 
Moroccan midfielder, Rachid Tiberkanine opened the scoring with a goal in the twenty-fourth minute. Sanzhar Tursonov got himself an assist as he brought down a cross and passed the ball through two defenders to an on-side Tiberkanine, who played the ball around the keeper before sending the ball into the net.
 
Anwar Diba added a second goal in the fifty-fourth minute to double his side's advantage. The Moroccan forward received the ball outside the box before he hit a low shot which went into the near side of the goal.
 
Just five minutes later, Mohammed Sayyar scored a fantastic goal for Shahaniya to reduce Kharaitiyat’s advantage. The Bahraini midfielder received a pass from a corner kick and curved the ball first time into the far right corner of the goal.
 
Rachid Tiberkanine scored his second goal of the evening in the seventy-second minute to put the game well out of reach of the Oryxes. The speedy forward ran past two defenders before reaching the box and curling the ball past the keeper, Khalifa Al Dosari.
 
The win takes Ahmed Al Ajlani’s men into eighth position in the table. While Shahaniya are in the drop zone in twelfth position with seventeen points from twenty-two games.
