QSL side Umm Salal is sweating on the fitness of two key players ahead of their round nine game against Muaither on Thursday evening.

The club took to social media late last night to confirm that both defender Anderson Martins and midfielder Ismail Mahmoud could be doubtful for the game. Anderson Martins has been absent for Umm Salal in recent weeks, and a decision will be made on his fitness by the medical team at training on Tuesday evening.

As for Ismail Mahmoud, the attacker was absent from his sides 3-2 defeat to Lekhwiya last time out after suffering a injury against El Jaish in round five. The absence of Mahmoud in particular is a blow for Umm Salal, who regularly relies on the feisty striker in attack. Again, a decision will be made on his fitness by the medical team at training.

Umm Salal currently sits in sixth place in the QSL standings and have ten points from eight games this season.
