Al Sadd Sports Club General Secretary Jassim Al-Rumaihi explained that the Wolves had acquired a truly world renowned player in Xavi Hernandez. He said, “We are so happy to bring such well-known star who will be a huge asset to Al Sadd Football Club.”<br />

Al-Rumaihi announced that Xavi will be wearing the number 6 jersey. He went on to thank central defender Mohamed Kasola for giving his number to Xavi.<br />

Jassim Al-Rumaihi pointed out that Xavi is a huge gain for both Al Sadd and Qatari football and added, “He is a big star who will support the team in the two upcoming seasons.”<br />

Jassim Al-Rumaihi said that the Spaniard's contract will be for two seasons but that he hopes Xavi will stay longer. <br />

Jassim Al-Rumaihi was asked after the press conference about Ammota -the club’s head coach. “He will continue with football team, he is very important for us here at Al Sadd.” <br />

Speaking about the ongoing negotiations with Algerian player Baghdad Bu Najah, Al-Rumaihi confirmed that the transfer of the Algerian player will be announced soon.<br />
