El Jaish have been featuring in the Qatar Stars League (QSL) for just four seasons now. But despite lack of experience at the top level of football in Qatar, El Jaish can boast of a better head-to-head digits against Al Sadd.

In direct encounters, El Jaish have one more win than Al Sadd. These two teams have faced each other eight times. Four of those matches have gone in favour of El Jaish. Al Sadd have won three and only one match has resulted in a draw.

This Match of the Week, between El Jaish and Al Sadd, will take place on Monday, 14th of December, and the Soldiers will be looking to maintain their edge over the Wolves in terms of results.

The first-ever encounter between these two teams was in the 2011/12 season. Despite the huge difference back then between the two teams in terms of history and achievements, El Jaish stunned Al Sadd to record a 2-1 victory with goals from Ismail Mahmoud and Wagner Ribeiro. Ali Afif had scored the lone goal for Al Sadd in that match.

In the second leg that season, Al Sadd were expected to avenge their loss but could only manage a draw with goals from Majed Mohamed Anderson (Al Sadd) and Anderson Martins (El Jaish).

In the 2012/13 seaon, Al Sadd secured their first win over El Jaish with a 3-1 victory. For Al Sadd, Khalfan Ibrahim scored a brace and Mamadou Niang scored the third goal while Marconi Amaral found the back of the net for El Jaish.

But in the second leg, El Jaish turned the tables and won the game 1-0 courtesy a strike from Maher Youssef.

The 2013/14 season witnessed a complete domination for El Jaish with them winning both matches.

In the first leg, El Jaish won by one goal from Mohamed Muntari, while in the second leg they won 2-1 with goals from Ikoko and Muntari.
Niang’s lone strike for Al Sadd went in vain.

In the next season, it was the turn of Al Sadd to make a clean sweep and they did that in dramatic fashion. The Wolves claimed a 3-1 and a
5-2 victories over the Soldiers to get their stamp of approval in that season.

El Jaish hold the slight advantage when it comes to a head-to-head record but with the current turn of form that AL Sadd are in, that advantage could disappear.
