Al Khor and Al Sailiya played a 2-2 draw at the Saoud Abdulrahman stadium tonight in round 17 of the Qatar Stars league.

With Al Sailiya in 8^th and Al Khor in 9^th this was a six pointer that neither side could afford to lose. 

Sailiya broke the deadlock first scoring on the 7^th minute; the goal came courtesy of Abd al-Rahman al-Harazi.  The Peregrines succeeded in maintaining their lead throughout the first 45 minutes despite some good chances for Al Khor.

After the restart Al Khor started strongly and Julio Cesar found himself taking a penalty in the 53^rd minute, however he missed and the home side then had to wait until the 73^rd minute to spare his blushes.

The equalizer came courtesy of Marcos Antonio who sent the home fans into raptures, after showing a solid work ethic and never say die attitude throughout the night  to get the goal (73’).

However the Peregrines responded immediately, in large part because of lady luck, when on the 75^th minute Mustafa Jalal misjudged a cross from the left and put the ball into his own net, thereby handing the lead back to Al Sailiya.

But there was to be one more twist in the tale, Julio Cesar who had earlier missed a penalty found redemption when on the 80^th minute he leveled the scores once more, making it two apiece going into the final ten minutes of the game.

The result was fair on reflection as neither side dominated but both coaches will be frustrated as they are still mathematically not safe from relegation.
