It seems that things are finely balanced between both sides Lekhwiya and Al Sadd ahead of their thirteenth direct encounter in the Qatar Stars League.Both teams have played on twelve occasions both sides have won the tie a total of five times along with two draws.

The games have witnessed a total of 37 goals, 21 of them in favor of Al Sadd and 16 for Lekhwiya. The previous season 2015/2016 was highest in terms of the scored goals with 11 goals scored in both league matches.

The first encounter commenced in the QSL season 2010/2011, which is the first season for Lekhwiya in QSL, The Red Knights won the first leg by one goal by Mohamed Razzaq, while Al Sadd won the second leg fixture 2-1 with goals from Youssef Ahmed and Ali Afif. Dame Traore scored Lekhwiya’s consolidation goal.

In the first leg match of the 2011/2012 season, Al Sadd won by one goal from Mesaad Al Hamad, while Lekhwiya sealed the second leg game with a 2-1 win thanks to goals from Dagano and Nam Tae He Khalfan grabbed the other goal for for Al Sadd.

Al Sadd started the 2012/2013 season with a big 3-0 win over Lekhwiya with goals from  Raul, Ibrahim Majed and Khalfan. The second leg witnessed the a  tie between both team 2-2. Hassan Al Haydoos and Ali Asad scored for Al Sadd while Sebastian Soria and Yossef Msakni scored for Lekhwiya.



The first leg fixture of the 2013/2014 season witnessed a  Lekhwiya 3-2  win Nam Tae Hee grabbed a brace along with a strike Sebastian Soria, while Khalfan scored both Al Sadd goals on the night. The second leg match saw Al Sadd winning by two goals from Abdel Karim Hassan and Jasser Yahya.

In the 2014/2015 first leg match, Al Sadd comfortably won 3-0 with goals from Nadir Belhaj, Rodrigo Tabata and Khalfan, while Lekhwiya won the second leg game by one goal from Vladimir Weiss.

Both teams excelled in the 2015/2016 first leg match and scored a total of 6 goals when Lekhwiya defeated Al Sadd 4-2. Mohammed Muntari, Yusef Msakni, Nam Tae Hee and defender Chico Flores scored for Lekhwiya, while Nadhir Belhaj scored Al Sadd’s goals.
 In the second leg match, Al Sadd won 3-2. A brace from Hassan Haydoos and Abdel Karim Hassan gave the Wolves all three points, while Karim Boudiaf and Ismail Mohamed scored for Lekhwiya.
